To sum things up, Icy Tower is simple, fun and is exactly that type of game that starts off as a nice casual activity but ends up eating a good bunch of hours. To do so you need to run a longer distance before you make a jump because it gives you more air and if you land on a platform and continue to run, you can make combo jumps for extra points and faster climbs. Icy Tower features a nice little mechanic that lets you perform jumps over multiple platforms. This way you are forced to keep your reflexes sharp and try your best to make every jump. That certainly spices things up a bit and to make the challenge even better, the speed with which the lower side moves upwards increases as you get higher and higher. Moreover, since jumping from one platform to another is no real challenge, the bottom of the screen starts chasing you and if it catches up, you lose. The goal is to jump from one floating platform to the other in order to climb upwards because the higher you get, the more points you earn.Īt first it’s kind of simple and silly just jumping around but what ever comes next in your climb is randomly generated so it’s impossible to predict where you have to jump next. A combo jump is a jump high enough for you to reach platforms two or three floors above you. By getting as high as possible (you get points for each floor you reach) or by making combo jumps. You start the game at the bottom level of the tower and using the Space key you perform simple jumps in the direction you point the little guy. Icy Tower is a fun and short, yet addictive game where your only goal is to gain as much score as possible. The challenge itself doesn't seem all that great but after you fall off the platforms once or twice while having a high score, the side of you which wants to more takes over and that’s how you get addicted to Icy Tower.
Icy Tower is a simple and nice looking arcade game in which you have to use a little dude to climb as high as you can in a seemingly never-ending tower.
